KIGO

The WHO and the Tartu Call have sounded the alarm and issued a warning about childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyles caused by a lack of physical activity among children. The KIGO project, Kids on the Go, sets out to take action and raise awareness of this problem.
About the project
KIGO is a project created within the Erasmus+ Sport framework, in which we work with four sports associations, primary and secondary schools in Italy, Portugal and North Macedonia to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport, both for everyday journeys and for leisure and social activities for children aged 11 to 13.
One of KIGO’s specific objectives is to create, through the project, a European network for exchanging good practices and comparing different backgrounds and methodologies in sport, education and the environment among the professionals and young people involved. Through the project activities and results, the KIGO partner consortium produced a training toolkit that can be downloaded free of charge, offering a tested model for anyone who wants to replicate the project activities.
